The Capital Dragon Boat Regatta will take place at the newly opened District Wharf, a $1.2 billion, 1.4 million square foot development along the southwest waterfront. Teams this year will be setting up on the transit pier directly over the water with great viewing of the entire race course. This race venue, on the Washington Channel, is ideal for dragon boat racing as it provides consistent 25 foot deep water through the length and width of the course and is out of the main channel of the Potomac River so it is not subject to flooding due to high rain events. Team tent assignments will be based on first come, first served so be sure to get your registration in as soon as possible. Space is limited and it will go fast!
The newly opend Wharf also features plenty of on-site parking in various garages on the Wharf site, all within 1-2 blocks of the race site and multiple on-site hotels are available for teams.
